Repeat Prescriptions

If you have a condition that requires ongoing medicines, you may receive a repeat prescription. This means you can request further prescriptions without having to see the doctor every time. You will still be asked to see the doctor periodically to make sure the medicines are appropriate.

Methods for ordering your prescriptions are:

  • Online –  Please Click Here to order online Via Patient Access or Click Here to fill our the form on the website.
  • In Person – Please return the counterfoil of the prescription document indicating the medication you require to reception. A box is provided in reception to enable you to deliver your prescription without having to wait during reception opening times, alternatively, it could be left in the letter box when closed. When no counterfoil part is available, a written note of the required items is acceptable provided that patient identification details are attached to the request (Full Name, D.O.B, and Address).
  • By Post – Post the counterfoil of the prescription document indicating the medication you require to the surgery, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope. If posting please remember to give at least one weeks notice for a first class stamp and longer if using second class.
  • Chemist – Some of the local chemists also do a collection service for the surgery. Please ask your regular chemist for details.

Unfortunately we do not accept requests by telephone or fax.

When will my Prescription be ready ?

Prescriptions will be ready for collection in two working days if you will be picking the prescription up from the Surgery (See table right):

Please request repeat prescriptions well in advance of public holidays, etc.

For those that request their prescription be sent to a local pharmacy then the time will be dependant on that pharmacy. Please contact the relevant pharmacy for an indication of the timescale.

Where can I get my prescription ?

There are several pharmacies local to the surgery. Some pharmacies will also pick up your written prescription from the health centre. If you wish to use this service please state which pharmacy you wish to use on your prescription request. Please note this may result in a delay in you getting your medication.
